Noteworthy Practices:

  • Adult Education Content Standards Warehouse Project [downloadable files] MS WORD (511K). The Division of Adult Education and Literacy is assisting states to build capacity in the development, alignment, and implementation of content standards in reading, mathematics, and English language acquisition.

     
  • Equipped for the Future (EFF) Teaching/Learning Toolkit for Standards-Based Instruction provides practitioners with resources to use the EFF Content Standards and Teaching/Learning Cycle in adult education settings.

  • Setting Strong Standards [downloadable files] PDF (486,795K). The American Federation of Teachers presents a set of criteria to guide states in evaluating academic achievement standards.

     
  • Standards for Success Project establishes what universities expect of entering students as defined by what students must do in entry-level university classes. Parallels standards-based k-12 systems being implemented nationwide.
